Mind blown....

Yesterday (Wednesday) I had a sore head - metaphorically and physically. It was my first full day in Norway and Bård kindly gave me a tour around 4 of the churches and 2 office centres, introduced me to a lot of new colleagues and also took me to pick up my rental car. A wide variety of organs from a historic one with a single manual to a very modern electronic with 3 manuals and pedals. Lots of very beautiful churches in stunning scenery and I'm looking forward to getting started.
Driving in Norway was one of my great fears but fortunately, here in Dønna the roads are very narrow so almost single track with passing spaces. That being said it did take a bit of time to get used to the different driving side. When Helga and Laila picked me up on Tuesday I was invited to sit in the front and made a move to get into the driver's seat before realising. I'm getting the hang of the door but still occasionally fondle the door in a vain attempt to change gear. Only had to do 3 u-turns while navigating my way home again.

Aww what pretty little churches! I love the look of the ceiling in the one with blue/grey pews. And the view from the 3 manual is impressive. Is that a projector screen l spy in the corner?
Also interesting to see how close up the altar rail is, wouldn't do for the priest to be claustrophobic. But, I guess communion would be speedy if you only have a short loop to walk round.
Beautiful churches
What a selection! They’ll all have their quirks I’m sure and keep you on your toes! What lovely churches too! You’ll soon have happy feet!!!
